I'm not going to pretend I can list my favorite songs from the 80s, or the new wave, let alone quantitatively order them. Here are jsut some random songs, albums, etc. that I loved and I also thought were influential for good or bad: (in no particular order)

Mirror Man-Human League
Life of Reilly- Lightning Seeds
Veronica- Elvis Costello
Bananarama- First three albums
New Order- Substance (Disc1)
Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me - The cure (Entire LP including "Hey You")
Flashdance Soundtrack (Including my favorites song of all time, the title track!)
I Feel For you - Chaka Khan (More influential to 80s pop and the long term of popular music than anyone will ever admit.
Neneh Cherry - The duet of "Buffalo Stance" and "Kisses on the wind"
EVERYTHING BY MADNESS
All Late 80s "alternative" before it became seattle.
EVERYTHING BY MADONNA UP TO AND NOT INCLUDING "Justify my love"
You Spin me round- Dead or alive. The perfect song that just needs to be and need not influence anything nor justify itself.
I Want Candy
All other early eighties sterotypical songs (99 Red Balloons, Tainted Love, Safety Dance, Take on Me, etc.)
All 80s soul music, without which the New Wave would have had no cultural counterpoint.

Have you seen Urgh-A Music War?
He performs this in a little car/cart, zipping around a stage. He has the most pissed-off look on his face that I've ever seen. It is hilarious!
I never paid too much attention to this song until I saw this performance, now I love it 20+ years later.

Hello everyone on the hub,

Once again I STRESS that the stuff written/posted by the low-life Spize is NOT or has anything to do with me - SPIZEII - nor do I know the person writing such things. Please make sure that is made clear and that and everyone is aware of it!!!

Thank you,

I have to keep in mind this is a New Wave forum, so I can't just willy nilly choose songs from other genres. It still tough, though.

Top 10 New Wave, New Romantic, Goth songs:

1. "The Perfect Kiss (Extended)" by NewOrder
2. "A Question Of Lust (Minimal)" by Depeche Mode
3. "Methods Of Dance" by Japan
4. "Pale Shelter" by Tears For Fears
5. "Souvenir" by OMD
6. "A Smile In The Crowd" by The Durutti Column
7. "Louise" by Clan Of Xymox
8. "Killing An Arab" by The Cure
9. "Come Before Christ And Murder Love" by Death In June
10. "In A Manner Of Speaking" by Tuxedomoon

There you have them. That was too easy... I'll probably change my mind about some to-morrow [:D]
