My favorite 80's band was OMD.

In the 80's the bands/artists that regularly landed on my turntable (when I wasn't listening to OMD) were:

New Musik
Kate Bush
The Korgis
Trees
Re-Flex
Visage
The Thompson Twins
Pet Shop Boys
Shoes
Icehouse
Y.M.O.

Yeah a few repeats from earlier posts..but hey, we all have good taste.

Honestly I had a hard time with the 80,s.I actually got into psychobilly(yep,I even got the P.Paul Fenech ape tatooed on my forearm). But anyway one 80,s band I really liked(and still do) is the Dell Lords.I saw them play in a Orangemen hall basement on a sweltering july nigtht in Oshawa Ontario in 86 or87.What a mind melting show for about 200 people. And lets not forget thier Dictator roots.

I was totally into Blondie, and I still would consider them to be my favorite, although I rarely listen to them anymore. I'll throw a couple of cds in once or twice a year and have a great time reminiscing. I guess I just burned myself out on them, which makes me sad now that I think about,[:)] But I can't deny the impact they had on me.

My other favorites in no particular order:
Simple Minds
Big Country
Motels
Toyah
Plimsouls
B52s

My absolute favorite band of the 80's (and still my favorite band to this day) was, and is The Cure.

I also am an avid fan of:

Echo And The Bunnymen
The Cult
Arcadia (the dark side of Duran Duran)
Roxy Music
Bryan Ferry
The Cocteau Twins
Midnight Oil
Love & Rockets
New Order
Bauhaus
Tears For Fears

Favorite 90's Bands: I was not much into the whole grunge/industrial/rap-rock of the nineties, but two bands stood out for me above all others, and subsequently became my favorite 90's bands, and are still putting out great music. They would be Cake, & Cranes. I also adore My Bloody Valentine, Lush and Throwing Muses from that era.

Favorite 00's Bands: Well, since the decade is only half over, I'll have to list my favorite starting at the beginning of the decade to now. They would be:

My Favorite
The Dears
The Arcade Fire
Eisley
Metric
The Magnetic Fields
The 6ths
The Gothic Archies
Future Bible Heroes
(these last four bands are all spawned from the retro-futurist, goth-pop God Stephin Merritt)
Melody Club
Cut Copy
Client
Electric Six
The Rapture
Stellastarr
Manic Street Preachers
Muse
Trembling Blue Stars
The Ladybug Transistor
Mercury Rev
The Bravery

it has to be THE GO-GO'S by a landslide

others include Belle Stars, Police, X, Mari Wilson, Bananarama, oh and Altered Images (loved them),...but again i have to say the GOGOS hands down for me...they introduced me to different music, it was refreshing to know there was more to music then Reo Speedwagon, Air Supply and heavy metal...
