OK, I'll chime in here -- these are the songs I remember the most while growing up in the 70's -- while these songs are not on my overall favorites playlist now, I do look fondly at them as they were part of the soundtrack of my formative youth (3rd - 9th grade):

Beach Boys - Sloop John B -- my mom was always singing this one
Barry Manilow - Mandy, I Write the Songs
Elton John - Philadelphia Freedom
Queen - Killer Queen
Stevie Wonder - Sir Duke
Hall and Oates - Sara Smile
Paul Simon - 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover
CW Mccall - Convoy
Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
KC & The Sunshine Band - (Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty
Chicago - If You Leave Me Now
James Taylor - Handy Man
Bay City Rollers - Saturday Night, I only wanna be with You
Walter Egan - Magnet & Steel

I also remember seeing the Beatles "White" album at some store about 1970, but my parents did't really buy popular music. The first albums I bought for myself were The Eagles "Hotel California" and Led Zeppelin "In Through the Out Door"

I'm guessing that your bike was a "stingray" with a banana seat, wasn't it?

It indeed was a Stingray - metallic lime green no less with a big banana seat.

Sorry, I know this is starting to get way off topic, but I felt I had to make one more comment. I'm sure Wolverine's metallic lime green stingray really set off his read hair. (Of course, we don't go THAT far back.)
