B-52's / Suburbs - MN State Fair

Postby Ollie Stench » Sat Aug 30, 2003 1:13 pm

Let me start off by saying that the first 2 B-52's albums never left my music rotation between 1980-1984. That said let me now say that I really don't like anything they put out after Wild Planet. So it was with great trepidation that I dropped the $25+ to get a ticket to this concert. But the Suburbs were opening up and they are always ready to put on a great show, and that's exactly what they did. A solid hour of hits from the entire span of their career (78-86).

The B's came on and opened with Whammy which was tollerable. Then we were treated to 4 songs from the first 2 albums and I was in heaven. As soon as they broke into Roam, Dead Beat Club and Burning Bush I wanted to vomit and my girlfriend and I both decided to leave. I missed Rock Lobster and 52 Girls but if the alternative was to sit thru 8 more songs like Chanel Z and Love Shack I don't regret my decision one bit.
