Save CBGBs concerts announced

From the tripwire:

<quote>"Save CBGB" Concerts Announced

By now you all know that CBGB’s fate is currently uncertain. Their landlords are threatening to not renew the club’s lease, which would put an end to this historical venue. The clock is ticking. Our time to help save CBGB from extinction is nearly gone.

As a last minute attempt to help save the 31 year-old punk landmark, a group of bands who owe their starts to the venue are planning a series of concerts in August. The “Save CBGB” campaign runs from July 31 to August 31 in an effort to raise support in helping the club keeps its lease. Living Colour, Sick Of It All, Liars, Circle Jerks, Govt. Mule’s Warren Haynes, Gorilla Biscuits and the Dead Boys are currently lined up to perform.

You can also help by signing a petition in support of CBGB by clicking here. Don’t let the man keep this precious piece of rock & roll history down. Show your support, sign the petition and make it out to their upcoming benefit events. The world’s scariest bathroom needs you! </quote>
