I know it's a strange request, but - does anybody have a 7" version of this song which lasts 4:30 or so? I searched anywhere and strangely only can find longer versions from the LP and a 12". Maybe somebody has it and willing to share?

Totally forgot about a 7" version. How dumb are the record companies another one that should've been on the deluxe (kind of) editions. I'd second a decent up of the 7" or 12" version

What's even more dumb is that this one appeared on the near-legendary "Now That's What I Call Music Vol. 2" release back in 1984 - in 7" edit. But the CD reissue carries an album version!

Why the 7" versions are constantly neglected - I cannot understand. It's them that were played on the radio, that sold millions - why substitute them for LP versions? Really strange - and even unforgivable.

I, too, would like to have this 7" edit. I'm guessing that it has never been available on CD. A vinyl transfer is available on YouTube. Hmmm ... Maybe I can re-create it from CD?

The UK 7" was the album version, but there was an US 7" edit.

Strange. That means that the "Now 2" compilation used a US edit? Hmmm, no wonder then that they substituted for the UK version on the CD release.

Indeed. That probably explains why we still haven't seen the U.S. 7" edit on CD. Does anyone know if the U.S. was the only market to use this edit? (I'm assuming that it was).

Hold on a minute... There's no CD re-issue of Now that's what i call music 2. 1 yes, 2 no. 3,4,5,6, and 7 aren't available on CD either i think with the exception of one of them but that is extremely rare and early Now volumes on CD had 1 CD and omitted many tracks from the Album / Cassette versions

There was a Canadian release of the same USA edit.
There is also a release from Japan of the same USA edit, that also has another exclusive edit that is even shorter than the USA edit.
