You contribute nothing anywhere but must have developed thousands of files by now.

I have known maccafan076 for many years in all his guises. He certainly does not come under your small fish analogy or young or from a 'musically deprived nation'. I even invited him to a Springsteen forum I set up in 2016 and then removed him many months later when he wouldn't contribute and continually requested including official material (example: an elvis costello singles box set) which we had zero tolerance over. I even got a begging message and offer of payment to let him back in that forum on here. Docman has missed one username from springsteen forums rivermeet076 but the outcome is just the same.

If you think it is ok for people who request and download in such quantities here and across the internet not to contribute to what is a community then that is your opinion. Other people are entitled to their opinions which they are freely expressing - look at the numbers of +1's from substantial posters.

You seem to be obsessed with how much material I have. Does it get shared? You bet your life it does. Do I make requests based on that, no. Do I use cashback hosts like the accountant and edge etc on guitars101, no - I am the most fierce critic of those people you will ever see.

This forum rules do not prohibit no-sharing, so no rules are broken. You are free to upload, just as well are free to not upload. You are free to download.

However much I agree with Docman and negative1 did you see me initiating this thread or even taking part until today? No. I resisted very well and I've been, for me, very restrained.

Painful? To me no. neither here nor there. I love the places I post regularly which are 100% live shows but I appreciate that not everyone wants those. Does it show a complete lack of respect for the concept of community here, yes. And it is supposed to be a community, not a warehouse, not a drive by click and collect. I modified my open activities here a long time ago based on it. I find it remarkable that you wouldn't encourage people who request and download to upload (particularly dead files or stuff they have got from elsewhere).

Am I blasting against people sharing official material, no. Do I agree with it, no. There's been a couple of threads which I've started and said don't use it to share or request official material because as the OP I think it looks like I would be somehow involved. That's one reason why I always say don't share anything I upload through soulseek (that and the fact that soulseek allows pornography on an unregulated site accessible by under 18's).

Don't be envious of what I show. I am very open to private messages as people know. The worst I can say is no I'm not willing to put that out right now or even I don't have it. As most people o here know it's 40+ years in the making. But as people would say there's been some big surprises going out privately this weekend. Not the shock level stuff. And eventually everything, yes that includes you know what to one person probably reading this who knows, will be out and about.

And again, we are never going to agree. But I look forward to the next post because let's face it it's keeping the subject at the time so more people will read it and be able to form opinions based on it's contents.
