Probably one of the most old recordings of Fripp's wife
Available only for a few days (they gone...gone!)

The recording sounds terrible. Someone tried to correct the original recording and ended up applying too much noise reduction and exiter but ended up damaging the recording. If you're a hardcore fan, you'll enjoy this one. Because it discourages hearing more noise than music

Why post it then? Sometimes it feels like we have two Ajwaves, one is posting, the other criticizes what is posted.......

When I got this recording I didn't care much about the sound quality. And after listening to it after a while it's really not worth it.
Unlike the Siouxsie recording that I uploaded a few weeks ago this one is unlistenable.

Lots of us have made recordings which weren't any good. You were at the mercy of so many uncontrollable factors - getting the recorder in, bouncers, other audience members, venue sound, venue conditions. I've got a thread on a private site called 'tape tales' which I'd love to post bits of here but would meet with the usual nuclear meltdown. Put the toyah tape in context, historical significance, yes it's an early recording. Sound ok, maybe not but it's the music machine. A small venue, poor sound, no doubt the band had relatively cheap equipment, a rough, over-enthusiastic audience, likely the cheapest recording device available and maybe a cassette that had been used one or two times before. What few understand is how expensive blank cassettes were at the time. Is someone allowed to criticise the content in their own upload, yes. I do it. Until Christmas when I got the master tape I would have posted the words 'this is unlistenable' next to any upload of the police at madison square garden 1982.
