I figured I'd sign on here to get Gaz's latest upload. I checked a couple times yesterday until I saw his older post that he wouldn't post until the 24th.

I said "Oh, cool! He uploaded 4 new issues, and mistyped the number 9, it meant to say 160".

And then I opened the post. Holy cow - what an amazing Christmas gift!!

I won't be able to listen to them until next week, as I'm leaving in minutes, but I can't wait to actually go through the music. It will take a long time, but I know it will be worth it. Thank you!!!!!

Oh man........this is sooooooo huge.......I dont know even how to put it in words.

Its not just the amount of hours or better said days, months & years that Paul has put into meticulously working on these volumes and the fact that he has decided to graciously share them will all of us here, its the mere fact of the amount of rarities that are on there.

I have just slowly finished listening to the first 100 volumes on my daily walks and carefully checking out available details on each of these releases, especially the ones that clicked with me as soon as I heard them and let me tell you - what you undoubtably already know - there are so so many really really unbelievably scarce & obscure releases on there - on minute indie labels, on no labels (private releases), even one record released only in Lebanon, if I remember correctly.
How did you come across that one, Paul, it boggles my mind completely......

So, thank you sooo much once again.
This collection will be deeply treasured by our small community for a long time and hopefully new generations that will discover it in their own time.

Wow, simply Wow! Not sure what to even say. The amount of time, effort and attention to detail spent on this is mind-boggling. The number of views in just one day is also mind-blowing and rightfully so. This legendary series will be cherished for years to come and a crucial reference point on how great the forgotten 80s obscurities decade really was. I listen to these on my media player and in my car and they just sound so good and it's a joy discovering all these artists that I had no clue about.
Not sure if this will do it justice but a huge thank you and virtual applause from me. Merry Christmas everyone.

Just a few short comments on selected tracks that stick out in my eyes at first glance:

Richenel - L`esclave Endormi (4AD version) - this is simply divine. Its funny because the other releases in this relatively unknown artists opus all mostly sound like your average throw-away run-of-the-mill 80s pop (at least to my ears), but this vocal performance alone is worthy of a top of the line singing award - if there ever was one.

Im-Mac Logic - this is actually a Nick Beggs side-project from 1984. How he managed to put it together in a busy year for Kajagoogoo is anyone˙s guess.......
Mind you......this is only a short track from a 12" release. Not much more became of this project afterwards.

Another great selection from cult Serbian bands & singers from the very early 80s period, including one I never heard of - Kozmetika.

I only found out about this project from Rijeka (major Croatian port) a couple of years ago.
They never had an official album release while they were active, but have finally got their due in 2008 when a compilation was releases with an entire album worth of material.

This is top new-wave material all over.
The main track - Ogledala su Oko Mene (The Mirrors are all around me) has a promo video as well, so I guess they did some promotion around it, but obviously not nearly enough.
