well....I have dial-up ( yeah....I know ) and my computer's a bit old. Uploading is not a problem , but sending MP3 files can take hours , so it's actually better for me to mail CD-R's

Did you actually get "I Dig You" (Long Mix) off vinyl or off the radio? And what's it's total running time?

I say we do a mass-email to WLIR to tell them to get rid of the Air Supply, REO Speedwagon, Brian Adams, etc(the easy-listening top 40) and have more Canadian content.
More Martha and the Muffins(hey, they released more than 1 song)
MORE Rough Trade
ANY Diodes
ANY Pointed Sticks,
and so on.
Make the Canadian content over 50%. They are selling themselves short.

You'd better write it in Spanish. They switched formats a while ago. No big deal, considering theyve sucked for at least 12 years!

I thought everyone was talking about that Internet station that prides itself on Canadian content. Oops.

LOL! I agree that the station really wasn't good for along time.
However, Malibu Sue did a great morning show a year or two before the station was sold. She would take your requests and actually play every single one of them. You could tell her what time to play your song and what day, and she would. It was great. I requested every obscure song from WLIR's heyday and got to hear it on her all request morning show.

I have long drooled at the thought of Steve Rabow or any of the KYYX djs appearing on the radio and taking requests for the old KYYX faves. *droools*
marie, that must have been really cool!

Angie,
It was great. Malibu Sue is now at another radio station and 80's reguest lunch hour. It is nothing like WLIR use to have. Her new station also does 8 o'clock 80's which I have heard a few good songs now and then. But Sue is great. I can call or email her anytime with any questions and she always answers them.

Martha and the Muffins had so many great songs that never got out of Canada: 'Swimming' and 'Women Around the World at Work' were great songs!

They played both of these songs (and more, including 2 versions of Echo Beach) at hugh's Room when I saw them in May 2005.
