I got this cd from some Cocteau Twin fan club out of California (I think the group was local)... It does not really sound like the Cocteau Twins per say, but it is ethereal and dreamy (little Goth) in it's own way... so I thought I would share it.

Tel Basta - Tel Basta 1992

Ripped in 320 MP3 from my cd (and yes I do normalize stuff at 90db, but you can take that off if you like). The group put out 3 albums in the 90s and disappeared. Size download is 96 mbs. Trying a new download site, hope it works decent.

Interesting, but a little too sweet for most folks I think...

Looking for a maxi song from a Spain group Magenta called "Detras De Mi" from 1985, if anyone has a bone to throw my way, I certainly would appreciate it. https://www.discogs.com/release/6080131 ... tras-De-Mi

Even though they were a local band to me, I could never find their 3rd album, but here's their first 2 (self-titled & Laid Up In Lavender) as flacs (ps. I always thought they sounded more like Dead Can Dance)

Enjoy!

Yes, DcD is a good descriptor of them... thanks for the upgrade for those that prefer Flac. I remember since I went through the fanclub (fanzine is more correct), I got the group to autograph my copy (which was a nice touch)...

Great thanks guys, had not heard of these and am a big early 4ad fan, Cocteaus, DCD, TMC etc. Did sell Simon Raymonde an LP on discogs few years back as a poor claim to fame lol. It was Yard Act.

You're all welcome!

Here's the compilation (flac) 'Thurtene (A Tribute To 4AD) that features Tel Basta covering Modern English's "I Melt With You".

You guys might also like Orange (they cover Pixies "Gigantic"). Cocteau Twins and Cranes fans might like them. Here's their CD as a flac.

The 4AD Tribute CD I have somewhere... I remember the Orange cover of Gigantic was very close to the Apple commercial they hired out a cover for... They blanketed the web and tv with it but never released it to the public so this song got a lot (20k or so) of hits on youtube as a substitute. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I liked it (Pixie fans would call it blasphemy of course).

Oddly enough I also had the Orange CD, I remember really liking the song Daisy.... They (Orange) definitely had the swirly shoe gaze song sound almost like groups like "Swallow".

Thanks for the shares !
