Two albums on one cd... FLAC

The Essence is a group most will remember here, they sounded like "The Cure" but were sorta overlooked despite having quite a few good songs.

I think this condensed cd leaves some songs off from the original albums, so it is sorta a "best of" of both albums.

Nice Rissan, close as I ever came was a few short conversations with one of the guitar players on a forum.

I was introduced to the band via a late Saturday evening radio show in the early nineties called "The Edge" on Q104 out of Gadsden. Most history folks will recognize the "Gadsden Flag" which is fairly popular now days. He liked both The Essence and Sad Lovers and Giants from the label "Midnight Music". The DJ called the label a one man operation working out of his basement at home that could recruit some of the best bands but couldn't afford to promote them. I bought some of the bands cds before the label went bankrupt. I think Cherry Records later picked them up.

There is a nice boxset of all their albums with a load of bonustracks (mainly single b-sides): https://www.discogs.com/release/1181001 ... -1985-2015

Only tracks missing are the reworked versions of 'Only For You' and 'Out Of Grace' from Glow.

Sorry Harley, I don't keep the large Flac files for long, takes up too much space. I keep an MP3 copy only. Most here tend to love the larger files, but I don't for personal reasons including being able to normalize all my music volume wise easily.

Glad a few folks liked the previous offering...

Here is The Essence 1994 "Best of ... " - "Dancing in the Rain" CD in Flac

I took the liberty of adding one additional song to the list ... (but it is just MP3) ... The Essence - "The Cat (Extended)"
