One of my ALL TIME favorite rock n roll movies. Featured Diane Lane as Corinne Burns, leader of a girl band trying to make it. And the awesome Ray Winstone as the leader of a punk band called "The Looters". And THEY are the reason I'm looking for this movie soundtrack or tracks from. I seem to remember one track the band sung, WITH PAUL SIMONON FROM THE CLASH ON BASS! Was titled "The Professionals" or just "Professionals" was a good catchy, proto-punk tune. Any info on this one would be greatly appreciated.

Great unreleased movie. It was originally titled "All Washed Up" and produced by Lou Adler (Cheech and Chong's "Up In Smoke" among others).

I've seen 2 versions. Night Flight showed a version that included Black Randy and the Metro Squad playing "I Slept In An Arcade" during the audition of the new opening act. Also in this version was a live song by The Looters called "Conned Again". "Conned Again" was never recorded or released by anyone connected to the movie, but the punk band Sloppy Seconds recorded a cover version of it in the early 90's.
A&E cable had a version that cut out those 2 performances but left in the swearing and the shower scene.

There is a huge cult built up over this film, I have no idea why it never got released.

I have a VHS copy that I picked up on ebay several years back. was there ever a soundtrack LP released?

Lol. I remember strolling in late, thoroughly baked and watching Night Flight Ollie. Forgot about Black Randy. Those were some truly funny scenes they had.

Truly tragic. This should be a full on SE dvd with interviews of the key players. I think most of them are still alive.

Although the credits said that there was a soundtrack available it was actually never released.

Grand Royal magazine had a feature on this movie in about 1998. I recently found my copy, and someday when I have a free weekend I'm going to type it up and start a LAGTFS web site.

the song join the professionals was actually written by steve jones of the pistols and he had a band with paul cook named the professionals that recorded the song and several other singles.
i can email you that song by the band the professionals.

Word on the street is that Rhino is releasing this on 9/30/08 with commentary from Lou Adler, Diane Lane and Laura Dern.

I gave the Rhino website a very quick once-over and saw no mention, but my source is pretty reliable.

Yes, it's true. (Well, unless they pull it from the schedule.)

I still can't believe it took 26 years for this film to get a legitimate home video release. When I think of all the crappy box office flops Paramount dumped out on home video... and they've got a film written by an Oscar winner (not to mention starring two future Oscar nominees) and they let it collect dust. Hopefully, they lost the rights to it for good. They don't deserve them, that's for sure.

Meantime, it's on YouTube, along with a featurette which is full of mistakes but still an interesting watch.
