These are all full LPs, I just haven't gotten around to side B yet.

I still have my doubts on the final output from this new needle. It seems to have lesser bass & overall loudness from my original needle. But, I can compensate somewhat in Sonudforge. The left/right channel loudness descrepancy is already easy to fix. Now I just have to figure out moving it up overall for loudness as the final step.
Ya just gotta clean the record real well, and religiously clean the cartridge after a track. Sadly, not all albums are cleanable. Some pop & scratch no matter how much care is taken.

Posted: Sun Sep 04, 2005 2:08 pmAre you normalizing everything after it's cleaned and EQ'd? That would bring everything up so the peakes are hitting 0db. I haven't used Sound Forge in about 5 years but I remember there being an overall vloume control somewhere.

I tried Normalizing, and it makes it sound quieter. Still experimenting with things somewhat. I'm just glad I can remove single-channel pops.
