I have this, but it's not mp3'd yet (pre-amp woes). Don't think I've ever even played it, so this will be a bit of an adventure. If nobody else steps forward sooner I figure I should have it by next Fri. (18th)

I have the French 12" of New Year's Day and the b-side is "Two Hearts Beat As One" but it says the remix is by Francois Kevorkian. Are you sure it's not this one? It's 5:40 long.
Hafta check the play time but the version in question starts out with a straight accapella vocal refrain "Heart... Heart... Heart...Heart...Beat as One... Heart... Heart... Heart...Heart...Beat as One... Then the Edge rips into the song's signature guitar riff followed by Larry Mullen's pounding drum beat... (Got me out to the dance floor EVERY TIME) [8D]

Hi,

Very big confusion. The french pressing says that Francois K. did the remix of both tracks, New Year's Day and Two Hearts Beat As One.

The American 12" has two versions of Two Hearts but one says Steve Lillywhite. Anyhow, it turns out to be the exact same thing as the French vinyl. So I play the other mix which gives credit to Francois K. and it's the one that starts off with the acapella. Hope that makes sense. Anyhow, here it is
Well eightsix (and others), treat yourselves to DJS's gracious gesture and tell me if you've heard this particular version before.
I must say there is something to be said about some remixes being a definite enhancement of the original (case in point: these dance club versions I've wishlisted here.)[;)]
