Poeme Electronique - the Echoes Fade CD

Poeme Electronique - the Echoes Fade CD

Can't remember this being mentioned on here, but got my copy and WOW! How fab to discover analogue synth-pop which completely missed me at the time. Female vocals and plink-plonk keys (think Data). Full 70+ minutes and great sound. There's a cheap video uploaded on Youtube to get a taste. Seems this style is now known as Minimal Synth. Took a bit of hunting (it's released on Vinyl LP and CD) but got one from the Netherlands via Discogs.com

Wow! I just got one of these thanks to a helpful reader/commenter at Post-Punk Monk. What a delight! Dave Hewson was obviously a well-schooled musician who was happy to make Pop, while having Prog chops. Placing this CD in a Venn Diagram where The Buggles, White Door and Vangelis coincided while having strong female vocals and lyrics from lead singer Sharon Abbott.
