China Crisis Re-Issues

Does anyone know what the differences are between the 1981 and 1982 7" of African & White? The latter is supposed to be remixed but I can't hear anything obvious.

There are two b sides for "No More Blue horizons" and they often get confused. There is "Watching Over Burning Fields", a long instrumental track lasting 6:22 and there is No Ordinary Lover, an actual song lasting 3:03. Both tracks are totally unrelated to each other however the chorus of No Ordinary Lover is "Watching over Burning Fields". To make matters even more confusing the 2 CD collection has these tracks swapped over by mistake so some people end up thinking No Ordinary Lover exists in an extended version.

Here is the correct information for the 12":

https://www.discogs.com/China-Crisis-No ... ase/591532

A No More Blue Horizons (Fool, Fool, Fool) 5:02
B1 No Ordinary Lover 3:03
B2 Watching Over Burning Fields 6:22

All three are on the 2017 deluxe edition.

However there is actually another mix of No Ordinary Lover and this was released on the CD Compilation Methods of Dance.

I concur. I have both and the 1982 12" is definitely remixed. It's easy to tell that but the Inevitable 7" sounds to me exactly like the album version. I should rip them to my editor for forensic analysis and report back with my findings. When I have the time… HAH!

It seems, as well as being censored, the 7" of Hanna Hanna is a slightly different mix. There is more echo on the vocals, going by the YouTube clip. It may be able only on this CD. It's cheap enough for me to buy and check:

Does anyone have this rare 12" from the Philippines? Is there really a Dance Remix of Wishful Thinking?

The dance mix of "Wishful Thinking" is just that! I'll wager that's overzealous hype from the Philippine record company. I don't have the "Hanna Hanna" 7" but I do have the video for it on "Showbiz Bizarre," which is definitely censored lyrically. It's funny that two of the singles picked from that album contained the f-bomb. I need to rip it and analyze it.

Love these reissues but was disappointed they didn't also reissue What Price Paradise. Does anyone know when/if the band plan on releasing an expanded remaster?

Just another artist dropping the ball halfway through a reissue program (e.g. U2, Duran Duran, Cars etc).

Pisses me off when they do that...finish the job like Pet Shop Boys did

what's left from the cars?

also, the pet shop boys did the bare minimum for their releases,
so that's not exactly worth pointing out.

duran duran probably won't do the rest of their albums, because the rest of them
aren't worth expanding anyways.

i cant comment on u2, because they're still milking most of their major albums anyways.

Cars missing Door to Door reissue, Duran Duran fans still love the later albums that were not expanded, Pet Shop Boys added in many unreleased songs, PSB only remixes & extd as double or triple discs with extended 32 page booklets so I am not sure how they could have done it better. U2 stopped cold right before Rattle & Hum which has a ton of unreleased material etc

There are only 2 CC albums that haven't been reissued/expanded: What Price Paradise and Warped By Success. Both albums were not very successful and CC themselves feel WBS is their weakest effort, which I agree with. Both would have to be single disc as there isn't enough mixes or material.

Diary of a hollow horse was expended sometime back with a 2 x cd edition with a number of the original walter becker mixes so I do think there is only two left

I quite like warped by success bit not too bothered with an expanded version if there's enough tracks but would like what price paradise expanded

Thank goodness I didn't wait to buy it. No wait, that was a gift! I'll have to give further kudos to my friend who gave it to me.
