Sometimes a new release will allude me. I mostly rely on NWO for new releases or reissue announcements but this one was never announced here or I missed it. The seminal unreleased recording by The Motorcycle Boy - Scarlet was released in CD/LP on October 2019 by Forgotten Astronaut Records. Usually, I would post a link were to buy it but being late to the party, it's almost sold out/back ordered everywhere I looked. Some of most sought after releases have had little to no fanfare after being released. i.e. Fiat Lux and now this one. How many "wish lists" have these recordings been on or talked about over the years? Oh well, water under the bridge. I thought I would post this announcement here, late, in case anyone like myself didn't know.

The Motorcycle Boy were an indie pop band formed in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1987 by former members of Meat Whiplash and The Shop Assistants.

The band consisted of Alex Taylor (vocals, formerly of The Shop Assistants), with Paul McDermott (drums), Michael Kerr (guitar), and Eddy Connelly (bass) (all formerly of Meat Whiplash), and David "Scottie" Scott (guitar). They were signed by Rough Trade Records, who issued their debut single, "Big Rock Candy Mountain", which reached number 2 in the UK Independent Chart. The band were then signed up by Chrysalis Records, with two singles and debut album Scarlet that was never released, but failed to achieve great success despite considerable press attention. The band then split with Chrysalis, with one further single released on the Nymphaea Pink label in 1990, before the band themselves split up.

Forgotten Astronaut Records have procured the license for the unreleased album “Scarlet” and will release the album in the fall of 2019. It will be released on both CD and vinyl with the CD containing two bonus tracks, Flood produced Sweet Dreams Pretty Baby, and the Pat Collier produced Days Like These.

I did a site search and no post about the release of The Motorcycle Boy - Scarlet CD Oct 2019
My post was the last entry about the recording/band.

I would love to see The Motorcycle Boy "Scarlet" with all other singles get an official CD release!"

musfan came across my old post and let me know about NWO's big secret.

I can't put all my eggs in one basket (NWO)
This new site eighties brought up has an extensive new release forum
http://www.imwan.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=15

If there are any other sites that announce new releases and/or review the sound quality,
not just moan about what single edit or remix was excluded,
please post a comment with a link. Thank you.

No, I've never seen this before.
This is great!
Thank you for sharing this.
I wish there was a better way that bands could directly profit off their own music.
It's sad so many bands become "dead in the water" because they have to rely on the music business.
It's a double edge sword.
Art & Music need to be experienced by an audience.
