I'm making a compilation CD in Itunes and there is variance in the volume level of some of the original song files. Some songs are way too loud and others are way too soft. I have adjusted the volume level of individual songs by going to "get info", then "options". This does indeed change the volume when I play the playlist on the computer, so there is pretty even volume from song to song. Problem solved, or so I thought.
The problem is that this does NOT change the volume of the offending songs when I burn the playlist to CD. The CD plays with wildly different volumes from song to song, as if I never twiddled with the volume at all. I'm confused. Why wouldn't the adjustments transfer over to the CD? If I can't fix the problem, I will have to omit the worst offenders from the mix, which will upset the flow of the compilation.
I'm eager to finish these CD-R's so I can send out my next round of CDs in the mix exchange. Any suggestions?
