Are Your Kids More Cool or Popular Than You Were?

Postby Jimbo » Fri Feb 11, 2005 5:36 am

I just found out that my daughter is going to be one of the Homecoming court (with 6 other girls) at her high school and at the big dance, the little kiddies will vote on who gets to be the Homecoming Queen. I think that is pretty neat.
When I was in HS, I was not THAT cool or popular, and especially not as a freshman.

So have your kinds "out cooled" you?

Yes my daughter has totally out cooled me but I still think I was kinda cool back then because it took a lot of talent for me to put an outfit together.[:)]

My girls are too young to tell but they have more of a social life than I did thats for sure! I'm trying to give them a better chance than I had. Besides, with Phillyidol as a dad, you have to be cool![:D]

My kids are still in elementary school, but I think they are already more popular than I was at that age. In elementary school, I was severely bullied and extremely shy, so it wouldn't be hard to be more popular than that! In junior high and high school

You know Jim, being a parent is one of the most fulfilling experiences a person can have. Just thought I would throw that out there![;)]

Jimbo,
don't feel sorry for those of us without kids. We have other, just-as-fulfilling experiences. They do not even compare to having kids, I am sure, but life-affirming all the same. Only a parent can attest to this fulfillment, but those of us who ar

A dead carp is cooler/more popular than I was. I was (am?) ubernerd. For my kids, outcooling the old man is hardly a challenge.
But cool they are! At least musically. I walked in on my teenage daughter yesterday and she was listening to the Vapors!
