Hey luckyducky91,

My name is Mike Burns...I was the guitar player of Foluntear. We formed in 1986 in the Claremont CA area(Near Los Angeles). We were heavily influenced by Duran Duran and Nik Kershaw. I was in the band until about 1989 and the band went on a few years after that.

Now I write music for TV and Film for such things as HBO, Lifetime, SciFi channel, etc.

I've also just launched a website to remember the 80s by:

http://iwasso80s.com/

If you want just go to the site and click the FAQ link and send me an email...I'll see if I can send you some more songs.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike:

Welcome to the board.

I've only heard one Foluntear record...the one posted here, but I must say I really like both tracks esp. "In My Mind's Eye". I'd love to add a vinyl copy to my collection, any thoughts as to where I might find one?? All of my usual sources have come up dry.

Hey there eight6...I'm glad you like the music :) As far as getting a copy on vinyl that might be tough. I'm not sure I even have one. I'll see if I can dig one up.

We did sell about 10,000 of them though. We all quit our day jobs and to make money we went to shopping malls, amusement parks, etc...basically anywhere there were a lot of girls and we'd carry a sack with about 50 45's and a walkman. We just walk up to people and say, "Hi were this band!" Thats how we supported ourselves....after a few years of that we had managed to sell a lot of records. Because we met everyone that we sold them to...they would all come to our shows.

Ah fun times.

Thanks,
Mike

I would really appreciate that Mike. Cost is not a factor, as long as the copy is clean. BTW, great marketing routine...and probably not a bad way to get dates either![:D]

Ok...I just put up a page for my old 80's band Foluntear. There are 11 songs that were recorded between 86-89. Feel free to download them mp3s.
