I still have my doubts on the final output from this new needle. It seems to have lesser bass & overall loudness from my original needle. But, I can compensate somewhat in Sonudforge. The left/right channel loudness descrepancy is already easy to fix. Now I just have to figure out moving it up overall for loudness as the final step.

Ya just gotta clean the record real well, and religiously clean the cartridge after a track. Sadly, not all albums are cleanable. Some pop & scratch no matter how much care is taken.

Are you normalizing everything after it's cleaned and EQ'd? That would bring everything up so the peakes are hitting 0db. I haven't used Sound Forge in about 5 years but I remember there being an overall vloume control somewhere.

I tried Normalizing, and it makes it sound quieter. Still experimenting with things somewhat. I'm just glad I can remove single-channel pops.

After years of lurking, thought I'd finally pop up and say "hi" and thanks! These songs are great; can't wait for side 2!

Just one question: the Sherb's "Crazy In The Night"; shouldn't that be "Cindy Is Leaving"? Or am I just crazy?

It could be. There may have been some track confusion with the Sherbs, since well, these things happen.

I'm going to redo those rips. They are way too quiet. I just gotta get time off of work/chores first.
