I think I used "bastion" the other day when I was describing Allentown, PA. "Bastion of white-trash crackheads" I think was the sentence.

The related challenge is to figure out if any of those words were used in new wave songs (or any songs, for that matter). The list can't be too long.

I know portend was used in a new wave song (anyone know?), and the Super Furry Animals tune "Juxtapos

A couple of days ago I told my daughter that her friends present "a formidable bastion of stupidity, unassailable by logic and reason." She asked for the def of bastion. I'm glad she can still learn something from the old man.
