<br>I agree with the inclusion of "Wild Boys" by Duran. I'm a big fan, particularly of their 1st 3 albums, but this song is HORRIBLE. Bombastic and overblown. Same goes for "View to a Kill". Argh!

Wild Boys was the name of my Compton Street Gang. We were tough...on the edge...especially with our huge Barbarella wings..."WILD BOYS!!"

All your posts have inspired me. OK we've got to ad:

Living On Video- Trans X
Don't Put Another Dime In The Jukebox- The Flirts
I Eat Cannibals- Toto Cuelo
Perfect Way- Scritti Politti
CHRISTMAS WRAPPING- The Waitresses
Secrets- OMD
Love And Pride- King
Goodbye To You- Scandal
Tenderness- General Public
anything by the bombastic Dead Or Alive
[/quote]

I gotta agree with djcraig on most of these but I'd replace "Secrets" with "Pass the Dutchy" and "Tenderness" with Taco's version of "Putting on the Ritz."

Oh, everything released during the '80s by Lionel Ritchie and Phil Collins.

Don't have the mental energy to pick out just 10 songs, so I'll just share this. If I'm driving in my car alone and "Don't You Want Me" comes on, I go in full Sam Kennison mode during the male vocal parts of the chorus and yell obsenities at the woman who found "a much better place with our without" me.

1. Men At Work -Down Under
2. Bruce Hornsby- whatever that awful "Rain" song is
3. Steve Winwood -"While You See A Chance"
4. Berlin "You Take My Breath Away"
5. Tommy Tutone "Jenny 867 5309"
6. The Cars "Let The Good Times Roll"
7. Modern English "I Melt With You"
8. Simple Minds "Don't You Forget About Me'
9. Billy Idol "White Wedding"
10. Just for the holiday season, that Fucking awful "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" song.

I know there are several duplicates here, but I'm at work & rather brain dead at the moment.

Here's two more that make me change the channel immediately:

"State Of Shock"- Mick Jagger and Michael Jackson (just stoopid)

"The Lady In Red"- Chris De Burg (this one makes me physically ill)

And anything from Prince's Psychedelic Paisley Park period- "Rasberry Beret", etc.

I have to disagree with the first post. I love Naked Eyes. They're one of my favorite bands from the era.

Songs I don't want to hear anymore (because they get overplayed on the radio now)

1. U2 - Just about anything
2. Police - Wrapped Around Your Finger
3. INXS - Devil Inside
4. Romantics - What I Like About You
5. Peter Gabrial - Sledgehammer
6. George Michael - Just about anything
7. Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me
8. Berlin - Take My Breath Away
9. REM - Losing My Religion
10. Motel - Only the Lonely

You are not alone, a lot of people liked Naked Eyes. I happen to like things I shouldn't but I know enough not to admit it in public.

As for being a "favorite" band, they had like what, TWO whole songs that got any recognition? Unfortunately those two songs were so lightweight and got so overplayed that I think I'd sooner listen to Richard Marx or Wilson Phillips (gag).

The point is, Naked Eyes is way down the list of bands of the era that had impact and significance. They were a two hit wonder. Nowadays you'll likely hear them on an adult "easy listening" station sandwiched between Air Supply and Kenny Rogers.

And they should also be in the Top Ten of the "stupidest band names" list. Right next to Kajagoogoo.

Gotta go now, I think "When The Children Cry" by White Lion is on the radio...

A friend of mine sang that one death metal style at a drunken karaoke night as a joke. i came back with "Once Bitten Twice Shy" from Great White in a Hank Hill voice. I don't think we'll be invited back soon.
