I will start with:
Depeche Mode - Live in Hamburg
Depeche Mode - Hammersmith 1982
Tears For Fears - In My Minds Eye
OMD - Crush The Movie
OMD - Sheffield 1985 (shown on BBC I think)
Duran Duran - A complete video collection including the videos left off Greatest (Too Much Information etc)
ABC - Mantrap
King - all music videos (they exist in excellent quality on youtube)

Also Bigmanrestless mentioned on another forum about a documentary about M in the early 80's. It sill exists in the BBC archives so I would love for this to be released.

broadcast 14/08/81:
Robin SCOTT looks at the band he created and leads - The M Factor, whose 1980 single Pop Muzik was a no 1 hit in 12 countries. He scrutinizes their number
'Offical Secrets'.

Brilliant thread and great mentions there, humanracer matey!

-The Sisters Of Mercy - a complete video collection including the videos left off "Shot Rev. 2" (1993)(("Temple Of Love (Original Version)", "Body And Soul", "Walk Away"...etc.))

-The The - "Infected" (1986)

Both of those would make my day/decade !

Jeez, Surly! Fantastic mentions here! Include to it the Thompson Twins complete collection as well.
Not having Kraftwerk one yet is just ridiculous, as they are one of the most influential bands ever. Bloody EMI's business policy again!

I doubt it's EMI, it's probably Ralf that is stopping anything coming out. Once he can find a way to digitally remove images of Florian, Karl & Wolfgang from the videos it'll probably come out

Ha ha ha. Now you've made me laugh! Yeh, that could be the reason why as well...They said they would reissue the first three albums in as the same way as they did the following seven a couple of years ago. So that could be some introduction to the DVD. We'll see!

They already have all their videos on DVD http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gold-Best-Spandau-Ballet/dp/B0019M06JI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1329846304&sr=8-3

The "Gold" compilation does not contain all the videos. It omits "Fight For Ourselves", "How Many Lies", "Raw" and "Be Free With Your Love", all of which could be found on the aforementioned "Best Of..." VHS.
Taking it is EMI's release, getting an approval from Columbia/Sony Music for them obviously was the problem.

Fight For Ourselves is on the DVD i have. I don't think they could be bothered putting the other 3 videos on there as the video for Through The Barricades is on it and it was released on CBS so it couldn't have been a licensing issue.

Awww...sorry to overlook "Fight For Ourselves", moni. My apology. Starting with the compilation's title, I think EMI's decision not to include the other 3 videos was just okay, as Spandau Ballet's most successful i.e. golden period was the one between 1980 and 1986. But I still would love to see a complete collection of all the videos they've done during the '80s, and reissue of "The Best Of..." VHS on DVD would be just perfect. Oddly enough "Heart Like A Sky" (1989), their least successful album had been sited their maturest offer in their entire career ever. Some other musical styles and artists were hip around the time of its release - acid-house, Madchester, SAW...etc.

As far as I recall Robert Smith said on the band's official site "Live In Orange" would be reissued on DVD sometime in 2010. But that hasn't happened yet.

"Urgh! A Musical War" was a topnotch stuff! Definitely deserved a DVD reissue treatment.

How about a complete collection of David Sylvian's amazingly beautiful videos?
AlwaysSaturday Posted - 02/21/2012 : 05:55:22
I'll be happy if The Cure would just release a DVD edition of their Staring at the Sea: The Images.

A good INXS music video compilation featuring the early tracks that were left off their DVD from a few years back ("Spy of Love", etc.) would also hit the spot. The INXS Greatest Video Hits 1980-1990 VHS collection was perfect, but many of those videos were never released on the subsequent DVD set.

Great choices!

How about:

Killing Joke - Complete Video Collection
Sad Lovers And Giants - anything!
China Crisis - Complete Video Collection
The Cure - Live In Orange official release
Urgh! A Musical War compelete

I believe between myself and a few other music video collectors on this board, we could at least help out with more than a few of those requests digitally. There seems to be many that will probably never see the light of day on DVD.

All the best,
eighties
