Posted - 08/17/2012 : 07:59:02 Obviously Mr. Gabriel is fully supporting this reissue program and is quite happy with the content ,knowing that fans will buy it regardless . Unless he comes up with a cd full with remixes and bsides in the near future . |

Posted - 08/17/2012 : 07:49:13 I was just listening to the special mix of In Your Eyes and the dance mix of Sledgehammer on youtube which makes me even more pissed off that these are not included on this |

Posted - 08/14/2012 : 15:23:56 http://petergabriel.com/ All the details are there now. So basically you have to fork out £80 if you want the Live In Athens DVD as it's not being sold separately and what good is a bit of vinyl to the vast majority of people who haven't owned a record player in over twenty years For that price i think people would be expecting Blu Ray discs not DVD's and has been mentioned no b sides or remixes fucking pile of shit. I thought the fans had an input on this release or did i just dream that because if they did they wouldn't have come up with this poor excuse for a box set. |

Posted - 08/14/2012 : 08:36:19 Sad but not a bit surprising. I think his last few releases tell it all too well that his creative well ran dry long ago and that he's only after cash: a covers album, multiple live albums and an album of orchestral versions of his own tunes. He's like that old Dennis Miller joke: two of shit is shit, if they really wanna fuck you they'll give you three of something. On the upside, he just saved me some money so I say thanks Pete! |

Posted - 08/12/2012 : 16:25:24 frankly I don't think they give a toss, just make it like a Pink Floyd immersion set and the fuckers will fly off the shelf, prob is Floyd was over a decade before and this LP should of had the hits/7"s/12"s ad nauseum it deserved.
But alas that Gabriel thinks his fans want duplicated material and a couple of rare tracks added to vinyl that justifies the price tag - I think not |

Posted - 08/12/2012 : 04:22:07 These box sets just keep getting worse it seems record companies don't give a toss what rubbish they release now. No b sides or 12 inch mixes on this means no sale. |

Posted - 08/11/2012 : 16:14:40 SO what a waste of a reissue I was waiting for - looks like I'll be trawling the net just to get the three unreleased tracks from a vinyl rip - sad SO sad waste of a opportunity.
LISTEN to the fans not the record company that haven't got a fucking clue. Do they read forums or blogs or replies to topics - mmm no |

Posted - 08/11/2012 : 11:58:53 I don't mind live material, but simply duplicating the same gig that is on dvd onto 2 cds is just a lame argument to justify a higher retail price. No b-side material is simply lame and hugely disappointing. Even without that, a 2cd+dvd set (So + So DNA + Athens dvd) I would have bought, but paying tons of $$$ for this? Absolutely not! |

Posted - 08/11/2012 : 11:48:46 It makes me wonder if they do ANY research to find out what it is that the fans are willing to shell out for. It's so stupid to hear labels bitch about how physical releases don't sell when the reason they don't sell is because they are too stupid to release what it is the fans have been waiting and hoping for.
And then when it sells poorly they blame bootlegging and sharing instead of their own ignorance. Their idiocy truly knows no boundaries.
I've been waiting for decent remix collections from at least a dozen major artists, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. When you FORCE the fans to download things like remixes from the internet just because YOU REFUSE TO RELEASE THEM PHYSICALLY you have no one to blame but yourself. |

Posted - 08/11/2012 : 09:45:45 Did anyone really believe this Box Set would include B-sides, Vintage 12" Mixes, previously unreleased mixes and tracks? After hearing how the Michael Jackson BAD Anniversary Set was sabotaged, plus recent disappointing CD releases (I mean the last couple of years) I lowered my hopes for this CD Set. I ask myself now, has there been ANY really good CD re-release lately? OK, to the point:

Yes I forgot.
I never understood if the "I Have the Touch '85 Remix" on the Sledgehammer 12"/CD-maxi was *released* in 1985 (never saw any evidence) or *made* in 1985 and only released in 1986.... |

Posted - 12/14/2011 : 11:56:44 Good question! It would look silly of course, but "Anniversary" nowdays is a selling point for CDs. I wonder how they will solve that "dilemma". I'm also curious about the track list. There's the original album, the CD extra track, the B-sides, the 12" Mixes, the Re-mixes (3rd party), the 1984 soundtrack tracks, and of course the unreleased demos and versions. /JW |

Posted - 12/14/2011 : 02:13:57 26th Anniversary of course unless it was released in 1987 which it wasn't. This was mentioned about a year ago on his site they have certainly taken their time to get around to it. |
