Hi, I'm Luis, from Barcelona, Spain. Yes, we had great alt. 80s here and I'm still a fan. So much fan that I even had a 80's music show recently in a local radio station. I also did radio in the 80s... but then 80s was modern present!!! I often do some 80's dj (dance and non-dance) as The Blitz Boy or The Voice (after Ultravox's song, not Sinatra) in clubs here.
For the purposes of this site, let me tell you a couple of things:
a) for me 80s mean 1978-1986. After this year it all became too mainstrean and/or funk/soul oriented for me. Of course there are good bands and songs after this year, and some of the bands that of the first 80s did great jobs in the 90s and even today, but take it as a declaration of my interests...
b) If this site is what I've seen in a quick check, I do believe I found my place on the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. To all who gave it and to the rest who read my introduction.
With the emotion of finding this place I forgot to mention that I'm mainly interested in the synth-pop part of the question. We do have lots of fans and sites about punk, new wave, power pop and after punk over here, but looks like the synth-pop part of the history is not so well remembered. That is mainly what I dj: pop with synth and/or keyboards.
