Deacon Blue are about to release their first studio album for 11 years. It is entitled "The Hipsters" and is coming to shops September 24th over their new Demon Music label which will release all of their past studio albums (1987's "Raintown", 1989's "When The World Knows Your Name", 1991's "Fellow Hoodlums", 1993's "Whatever You Say, Say Nothing" and 2001's "Homesick") as deluxe editions later in the year as well.
For more info check the following sites:

I'm curious in hearing it too, as I liked their last studio offering ("Homesick"). Pity it charted quite low (#59 in the UK charts) due to Papillon Records's (their home label at the time) financial problems.

Here ---> http://www.onefifteen.com/news.htm I found out something even more on the reissues:

All the albums will be remastered and repackaged and will contain bonus CDs and DVDs. These are "Raintown" (3 CD + DVD), "When The World Knows Your Name" (3 CD + DVD), "Fellow Hoodlums" (2 CD + DVD), "Whatever You Say, Say Nothing" (2 CD + DVD)and "Homesick" (2 CD).
Everything they have ever released will be contained in these reissue packages. The material from the two B-sides albums, "Riches" (1988) and "Ooh Las Vegas" (1990), will all be there but attached to the album from which the single was first released.
There were also many standalone recordings, issued on "Ooh Las Vegas" (1990), "Our Town - The Greatest Hits" (1994) and "Walking Back Home" (1999). So for completists, these will be issued in a package entitled "The Rest" (2 CD + DVD).

Looking forward to it all!

Just seen them and that's what I call job done perfectly! I do hope to hell the prices come down too. We can purchase them from the other sites if the prices would be lower over there instead, of course.

Too expensive - £18 for a 3cd plus DVD set ?
When you consider that INXS 'kick' is £46 for a similar release that misses out several key tracks I don't think that's too bad.

IS THAT THE TWELVE INCH MIX ? Out late 2010 www.robgrillo.co.uk

mildly disappointed by Raintown, no 'That Brilliant Feeling' parts 2, 3 and 4 - so not comphrehensive - and nothing really that isnt on the CD singles, Legacy edition or Ooh Las Vegas (bar Dignity extended). When The World is better as it has more 12''s on.

Actually, when you pay 18 quid for a single CD or DVD, that's (too) expensive, magnum matey. But if you pay that same amount for a set that includes 3 CDs and 1 DVD, then it is not that expensive at all, especially when almost everything's on unlike that ridiciously steep INXS "Kick" set that misses several key tracks and promo videos. So I'll stick with anorak here. But I do understand those who find it expensive inspite of that. 18 quid is 18 quid regardless of what you getting for it, innit? Taking from the various release histories, prices will come down eventually. That's Amazon price only. eBay, CD Wow or some other retailer may have it cheaper. Prices are different from one retailer to another, you know. Besides, you can always save your money and put it aside for it. You don't have to buy it straight away but (a little) later. It won't go away. But if you want to buy it straight away, start saving now already. Anyways...

What I'm looking forward 'bout the reissues the most are promo video versions that weren't included on the "Singles" DVD collection of 6 years back like "Dignity (1988)" i.e. "Dignity (version 3)" et al and all those brilliant "Your Town" remixes. Oh, and great to see Ricky Ross's personal input in them as well.

There are few others in this thread who think the price was expensive....you also thought yourself that the price should and ought to come down.....anyway i digress......shall be keeping tabs on this should a new/used copy becomes available at the right price at the usual places.
