I know this is the farthest thing from New Wave but I bought their Project 1950lp(Excellent) back in the spring and it renewed my interest in them. They have been around along time and have paid their dues.My only regret is not buying those Danzig releases when they came out now their as easy to find as holy water in Hell.

Right here. Big fan from way back. To tell you the truth, I'm not familiar with their albums after they reformed subsequent to Danzig's departure. I was not fond of (solo) Danzig or Samhain much at all.
I'm glad to hear their more recent stuff is worthwhile. Someday I'll check it out.
Personal favorites are "Static Age", "Walk Among Us" and "12 Hits from Hell". You won't find "12 Hits" very easily or cheaply, but the other two are readily available, as is the great coffin-shaped box set, which has just about ALL the Danzig-era recordings plus tons of rarities. (I don't believe the box includes the "Walk Among Us" album, however.)
I love goofy cheesy horror movie stuff, so they fit right into that...right up my alley. Hardcore psychobilly doo-wop creature feature yeah! |

Another fan right here. Actually a bigger punk fan than new wave fan.

I also liked early Misfits. Ape Module was right in identifying their punk & psychobilly sound...they kind of reminded me of the Cramps. But the Misfits were more punk. I also like "Static Age" the best....how cool, now you've reminded me of these guys' music!

I have two CDs that I like a lot, but I'm not fanatical about them so I never saw them live.

I also always liked that cool skull face insignia they had, before every scruffy little Hot-Topic-denizen kid started co-opting it recently.

They're my wife's favorite band. I like a few of the CDs as well, but they lost me with "Famous Monsters".

My 9 year old son loves 'em too. The whole family went to see Michale Graves & his new band a few weeks back. Pretty cool if you like newer Misfits stuff.

"London Dungeon" is my favorite. Kinda lost interest in anything Danzig did once he went all muscle-bound and whatnot.....but the early Misfits singles were great - melodic and catchy, like the English punk before it.
