Felony

I knew the Spry brothers way back in 1968-70 when three of the brothers (Jack, Jeff and Joe) had a band, but then I moved away and completely lost touch, and didn't even know that was them when I heard their music in the 80s, until I happened across an article about a completely unrelated artist that just happened to mention them.
In it I read about Jeffrey's suicide, which really hit me hard. I am still sad and in shock; he was so obviously talented, had such a presence. Does anyone know what happened, any clues as to why he checked out?
