Dale Bozzio & Missing Persons

Inquiries and discussions about new wave artists and what happened to them.

Dale Bozzio & Missing Persons

Postby SteveStrummer » Wed Oct 19, 2005 9:20 am

After a marvelous couple of albums, and a third not-so-marvelous one, Missing Persons broke up in, I think, 1986. How could the delightful Dale Bozzio have vanished so thoroughly? Can anyone fill me in on the rest of her life?

I don't know about vanishing thoroughly, since she performed on a weekend episode of "Access Hollywood" about three years ago, and on one of the U.S. episodes of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" this past summer.

Unless you meant that her talent vanished thoroughly. Which, based on those two performances, certainly seems to be the case.

She had a solo album that was POO[xx(], so I think the record industry wrote her off.

Sad, because I love her[:X]

OK, I actually did see that "Hit Me Baby One More Time" episode and it was a little embarassing :( But hey, we're more than 20 years past her prime (and :0 mine, too). Still, I would think she'd have done stuff in the interim.... So, she had ONE solo record, and she got dropped? Brutal. I would've thought all those Missing Persons hits would guarantee her a longer time in the spotlight.
So what was the album called? When did it come out? And does anyone have it??

Riot in English was the title & prince co wrote/produced some of it & it still sucked[:(]
I think it came out in about '86.
I have the CD, would you like some tracks?

EDIT:Prince wrote one track, didn't produce.
& it was released in '88 not '86 on Paisley Park

If it's possible, I'd like to hear a few tracks as well.

I always preferred MP's "Rhyme and Reason" to "Spring Session M". But hey, that's just me!

Ouch- that feels good is indeed a horrible track.

"Ouch" is a pretty good summation of the entire album.

I actually like the sax in "That Feels Good." It's just Dale's straining vocals that swoop in and strangle it in the crab. Well, that and the insipid lyrics.

Oh, the hilarity!

I actually bought the Dale cassette when it came out--NOT because of Simon Simon, but because I thought the title of Ouch That Feels Good was pretty funny. Imagine my surprise when there was nothing remotely funny about the whole freakin' album! Dang!

Just downloaded "Ouch - That Feels Good".

Nice intro, started to get into this. Then the vocals start.

"Simon Simon" sounds like a Janet Jackson cast-off.

Hey, I like a couple of Cliff Richard songs and would be willing to expand my interest in his repertoire than listen to any more of this drek.

Never give up, never give up, never say die... but you just might if you try to consume Dale's entire album in one sitting!
