Nitzer Ebb reunited!

Postby matthewedwinmiller » Wed Nov 09, 2005 4:54 pm

FINALLY!!!!!

News came out a couple of weeks ago that Bon and Douglas are reuniting for a limited tour; no plans to record new material. They are confirmed to appear at Wave Gotik Treffen, no other dates announced yet. Tour booking will be handled by Neuwerk.

More Info: http://www.nitzer-ebb.com/

If anyone sees any more news snippets... PLEASE post them!

Related news... theres a new Nitzer Ebb cover band who will be releasing an EP on November 18th, they are "Muscle And Hate", which is made up of Sebastian Komor and XP8.
Their MySpace site: http://www.myspace.com/muscleandhate
... if youre still wanting more Nitzer Ebb-ish sounds, be sure you look into Douglas McCarthy's recent project, Fixmer McCarthy (sounds like early NE to me) and the group Spetsnaz, who also sound very much like early NE, around the "That Total Age" phase.

Wow, that's good news. I saw them open up for Depeche Mode in 1990 and then I saw them do a show at NYC's Limelight back in 1994-95. Very energetic show and great to hear all those kling klangs live.

I wonder if "limited tour" means Europe only? Linky to German site June 2-5 2006.

I just got the Fixmer/McCarthy CD yesterday. It's awesome! Not too far of a departure from Nitzer Ebb, so it should please fans.

So far, there are four dates announced for the Nitzer Ebb 2006 tour... but only in Europe. And I also read that they are focusing on older work (hopefully Showtime and earlier).

If anyone is fortunate enough to attend these shows, PLEASE capture the A/V!!! PLEEEEZE!!! :)

Some great news regarding the "Body Of Work" compilation that MuteUK was putting together but had been put indefinitely on hold... this is from Side-Line, Jan 02 2006:

"In an exclusive interview with Side-Line magazine, Nitzer Ebb have announced that their relation with their former label has been put back to normal. Douglas McCarthy: "We are both back in close communication with everyone at Mute and Daniel. In fact the first person I went seeing after I had met with Bon in Chicago was Daniel Miller at Mute. We are working very closely now with the label for the release of the 'Body of work' compilation." Does this mean that the issues the band had with Mute are now solved? "Oh yeah, yes, definitely. I mean at this point it has not even been discussed what would happen if we would have a new album coming up [but...] I have already submitted artwork for the compilation and Mute have put together some listings for the tracks on the CD and it looks like it will be indeed 2CDs and DVD in one packet." Some extra good news is that there will be a separate release, "The remixes", to be released shortly after "Body of work" offering 2 discs full of remixes, old and new ones plus previously unreleased material. A tentative list and more revelations by Douglas McCarthy and Bon Harris can be found in the next January 2006 issue of Side-Line, number 54."
