Albums that I make people listen to when they come to my house for dinner. Kind of like the way some people do with slides...

I'll call this part one:

1: OMD - Organisation {1980} (I love the "Enola Gay" so much that would probably have married it if it were possible) ~Dazzle Ships is another brilliant album, in fact eveything they have ever done and will ever do is brilliant. I mean just listen to Tesla Girls...sorry, I'm babbling.)
2: Soft Cell - Non-Stop Ecstatic Dancing {1982} (My first "big boy" record that wasn't Elvis Presly.)
3: Iam Siam - She Went Pop {1984}
4: Ebn Ozn Feeling Cavalier {1984}
5: Alphaville - Foreveryoung {1984}
6: IcicleWorks - Whisper to a Scream {1984}
7: Prefab Sprout - Two Wheels Good {1985}
8: The Housemartins - London O Hull 4 {1986}Highh
9: Timbuck 3 - Greetings from {1986}
10: Black - Wonderful Life {1987} (This was my very first CD}
11: When in Rome - When in Rome {1988}

Now I must sleep.

Wow! I thought I knew it all, but almost all of these are unknown to me. I grew up in Los Angeles in the 80's, and now I live in Manhattan (NYC)--most New Yorker friends of my age group know almost nothing in my 80's collection.

Does anyone here in Manhattan have these songs on CD, and if so, would you be willing to swap some MP3's?
If so, I live in Chelsea. Shoot me a line at DannyMCMLXIV@yahoo.com

I've had "The Other Ones" on cassette for a long while, but it basically wore out. A year ago I was able to find & purchase a copy of that record on CD. Let me know if...

Here are some other records that I still enjoy (most on CD):
Belouis Some - self titled
Woodentops - Giant
WonderStuff - Eight Legged Groove Machine
Killing Joke - Eponymous
China Crisis - Flaunt the Imperfection
Armoury Show - Waiting for the Floods
Captain Sensible - A Day in the Life of
The Opposition - Empire Days
James - Stutter
Connells - Boylan Heights

I wish there was a way to hear some of the favorites others have been boosting.

Favorite Obscure 1980s New Wave Albums:

"Telekon"-Gary Numan (at least here in the US it was obscure)
"Drums Along The Hudson"-The Bongos
"It's A Condition"-Romeo Void
"Sweet Sound"-Simon Townshend
"Clues"-Robert Palmer's New Wave LP..not bad!
"Everywhere At Once"-The Plimsouls

John Ruth "I am a Model"

I'm transfering to cd as we speak.

A cross between OMD, Expanded Heads, Numan, Ultravox pretty good for a one man band from New York. The east coast had John Ruth and the west coast had Dane Conover (Trees).

I agree with Trees - "Sleep Convention." It's a shame that it has never been released on CD - at least yet. Maybe someday.
