I'd cut my hands in order to keep this top 10, so let's post all the ones what we rally like... can even be all of them.
I spent several months without listening to them cause the music takes me back to a period of my life I don't want to remember. But I'm over that now and have returned to the Sting-Copeland-Summers cult. Glad I did.
Here's my list:
Be my girl- Sally
So lonely
Born in the 50s
Can't stand losing you
Bring on the night
Message in a bottle (uber-classic!)
Walking on the moon
The whole Zenyatta album (yes, all of it): Driven to tears, When the world..., Don't stando so close to me (although it makes me cry every time I listen to it),Canary in a coalmine, Bombs away, etc...
Every little thing she does is magic
Spirits in the material world
Synchronicity Part 1 and 2
Every breath you take
Miss Gradenko
King of pain
Wrapped around your finger
Tea in the Sahera and Murder by numbers

So I should have said all of them!!![:D]

Hutter....
I'm not always listening to Joy Division.
However, liking them it's like a part of who I am.

I always liked their projects or solo efforts better than their main releases. Eberhard Schoeners Video Magic (both versions) had some of the best police efforts as a group that I can think of and klark kent had more of that indie feel to it as well as fripp and sommers stuff. You have to go off the beaten path to find the best.

Actually, my favorite Police song is the one where Sting does the phony reggae voice. I love that one.

I have a real problem with the "ties you up and rapes you" line in this song. It kind of kills the whole thing for me.

Well, seeing as I lived "Invisible Sun," I'd have to put that at the top of the list.

Followed, in no particular order, by 95% of everything they committed to tape. I was obsessed with "Wrapped Around Your Finger" in the Spring of '84. "Every Breath You Take" didn't do much for me, but "Finger" hooked me right in. (That sounds kinda dirty...) Also thought the neglected album track, "Man in a Suitcase," was the best thing on "Zenyatta Mondatta." I mean, except for "Secret Journey," all the US and UK singles were well-chosen, but the American division of A&M blew it big-time not releasing "Invisible Sun" and "Walking on the Moon."

Except for "Behind My Camel," Andy Summers' tracks were most of the lowlights for me. Stewart Copeland's were quirky and amusing (if not all that melodically-appealing), but Summers' verged on noise pollution. Much like Sting's solo career.

Yes, "Man in a suitcase" has been neglected and is a great song. Also "Bombs away" (which is one of the Copeland's composed tracks) is great... very funny actually:
The general scratches his belly and thinks
His pay is good but his officers stink
Guerilla girl, hard and sweet
A military man would love to meet

The President looks in the mirror and speaks
His shirts are clean but his country reeks
Unpaid bills
In Afghanistan hills

Bombs away
But we're O.K.
Bombs away
In old Bombay

The general only wants to teach France to dance
His army life doesn't give him any romance
Guerilla girl, hard and sweet
A military man would love to meet

The general scratches his belly and thinks
His pay is good but his company stinks
Guerilla girl, hard and sweet
A military man would love to meet

Bombs away
But we're O.K.
Bombs away
In old Bombay

Thanks iGroove!!! I had a dream last night in which I had a band and we had a big Police influence... our stuff was pretty danceable, with lots of ska elements and a bit neurotic....

Of course, I was listening to The Police before going to bed.
