or say since about 2000. Thought I'd try this thread over here instead of the trivia page. One shouldn't just live in the 80's

I was tempted to post Shout Out Louds' "Tonight I Have To Leave It", but since a few of of you know that track pretty well (and look it up if you don't!), here's "The Comeback" from a couple of years ago. Impossibly catchy as are most of their songs it seems. Can't understand why it hasn't been snapped up as the outro track to some romantic comedy...

Tileboy...what is "Next Wave" mean exactly?...I thought it to mean current acts, apeing , well...New Wave...
I kind of get the vibe you mean by 'next wave' is "Indie Pop" or just 'Indie', for example everyone on this site seems to love (for reasons I dont get) British Sea Power....not new wave...just trying to get the definition straight...The Miss Kitten video I put up is a perfect example of what I consider "Next Wave"...80% of the "sound", production and vibe harkening back to the halcyon days of 'New Wave'
--I dont have any problem with new music...just trying to figure out why people are conecting 'New Wave' to Modest Mouse or Of Montreal or British Sea Power....that being said, I consider 'Interpol' "next wave"...

To tell you the truth ,I hadn't really heard that term until I found NWO 2 years ago. I think you're right, it's music that is influenced somehow by new wave. I think most of us in the next wave section have expanded that definition a little to include new music that just sounds a bit off the beaten track.

I haven't fully gotten into BSP yet, but I swear I'm gonna try.

I do like the Miss Kitten song and Vid.
