My sister got screwed out of $200 because of Dave's illness. The Chicago show was cancelled and she bought her tix on ebay. [V] She's none too happy about it but she has more important fish to fry right now (she's getting married Sunday).

The PNC show Sunday was definitely better than the Jones Beach show, at least for me. It may have been the difference of being on a blanket on the relaxed lawn area as opposed to freezing up in the seats on the water at JB. I also was so surprised when they opened the encore with Leave in Silence (despite it being a very different version.)Excellent show!

The PNC show BLEW AWAY Jones Beach. In fact, it was the best show of this tour so far!!! Hands down! I'm not a Jersey person, went there expecting the crowd to suck, but man, they came to LIFE! And the band was spot on perfect. Dave's voice was 100%. No fu#kups like at Jones Beach (with Photographic, Stripped and others...). Some probably had to do with the weather (JB was MISERABLE - windiest concert I've ever been to). But the rest was just the band sounding and looking great. Plus, Leave in Silence and an extra song in the encore - only show on this leg to feature a 4-song encore!!! Seriously, people, they are selling all the shows through depechemodelive.com - this show should be a must buy!

BTW, completely uncharacteristic for DM shows, last night in Mexico City, they changed FOUR songs on the set! Usually, DM fans are lucky if they get an alternate Martin acoustic track! Bodes well for the shows in Jones Beach, PNC, AC (assuming any losers besides me are going to all 3. lol)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

what were the four different songs?

Mart did Judas and Leave in Silence, and the band did The Sinner in Me and Just Can't Get Enough.

By the way, when Dave had to leave the stage in Kansas City last week, Mart plopped down for a solo set. He did Leave in Silence, It Doesn't Matter Two, Somebody, A Question of Lust and Damaged People. Too bad depechemodelive.com decided not to sell this show - would have been great.

The amazing thing about this tour is that they're doing songs off the cuff so no two shows are exactly alike. This is very uncharacteristic of them - I LOVE IT! And I am so totally buying the Jones Beach show. I understand that some performances were better and you're gonna have that but this is the show I went to. I might buy other shows from other cities as well.

Wow...the sound quality on those clips was pretty horrid. I'm telling you Dave didn't sound that bad from where I was sitting and neither did the music. I guess sometimes it pays to have nosebleed seats!

[/quote]Well, I would certainly attribute it to being in close proximity to the speaker bank coupled with a chintzy digicam whose audio level control was no match for the ambient db level.[xx(]

Sounded like the bass was killer though! [}:)]

I bought the Jones Beach show from liveherenow.co.uk if anybody wants to go fifty/fifty with me. Contact me through my profile and I'll send you a copy. At £6.00, that's a good deal for you.
