British Electric Foundation reunion...of sorts

Postby Frau_Blucher » Fri Dec 08, 2006 8:41 am

From a newsletter I received...

"But for his early death, March 2007 would have seen the 50th birthday of the glorious Associates frontman Billy MacKenzie. To mark this anniversary, there will be a charity event at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 28 March. The event is being put together by Gary Williams. All profits will go to the charity Sound Seekers (formerly the Commonwealth Society for the Deaf).

A Tribute To Billy Mackenzie
Weds 28 March
London Shepherd’s Bush Empire

Artists so far confirmed:
British Electric Foundation
The Subterraneans with Paul Haig
The Electric Soft Parade

Tickets: www.ticketweb.co.uk
Tel: 0870 771 2000

More info: www.myspace.com/soundseekers

The British Electric Foundation - Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh of Heaven 17 and The Human League - worked with Billy MacKenzie on their two Music Of Quality And Distinction albums. This will be the pair’s first ever live appearance in the guise of the BEF.

Further artists are due to be confirmed for the event and all participants’ slots will honour the musical memory of Mr MacKenzie. Hope to see you there, wearing a nice beret and chatting intently about a breathless Beauxillous griffon."
