Thursday 28th December:

PRETTY IN PINK presents the BEST bits of the late 70s and the 80s!
(plus occasional surprises from other years)

We have two very different floors of music, but on both floors you can expect to hear alternative sounds from the likes of DAVID BOWIE, THE SMITHS, THE CURE, BLONDIE, JOY DIVISION / NEW ORDER, ASSOCIATES, SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES and THE PSYCHEDELIC FURS.

This month, our featured artists downstairs are SOFT CELL, as we mark the 25th anniversary of their debut album. Sean Turner (Smash Hits 7) will be playing tracks spanning their early 80s career, including classics such as "Bedsitter", "Memorabilia", "Say Hello Wave Goodbye", "Soul Inside" and many more.

Sean will also be playing dancefloor-friendly new wave and pop, such as DURAN DURAN, THE HUMAN LEAGUE, JAPAN, DEPECHE MODE, PET SHOP BOYS, MADONNA, PRINCE, ADAM & THE ANTS, SPARKS, ROXY MUSIC, DONNA SUMMER, THE SPECIALS, THE JAM, ABC and VISAGE. Cheese is NOT on the menu!

Meanwhile up on the ground floor, Nick Nyro (The Fan Club) adds indie and post-punk into the mix, such as PIXIES, WIRE, MAGAZINE, THE REPLACEMENTS, PATTI SMITH, SONIC YOUTH, THE GO-BETWEENS, GANG OF FOUR, THE CLASH, RAMONES, DEVO, THE FALL, THE HOUSE OF LOVE and TALKING HEADS.

By the way, we appreciate it if you dress up a bit down in the basement - think late 70s/80s/glam/alternative/pink!

Admission is FREE, we get started at 7:30pm, and you can find more details on the website at http://thefanclub.info/pretty.htm or our Myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/duckielovesandie !
