Coop didn't mention the weirdest distraction during a show.

That honor would go to the Jackalope bar. While the Riverboat Gamblers were playing. they were showing a softcore porn movie in which a black ventriloquist dummy boned (pegged? ha ha) a bunch of women and killed them. I later found out the movie is "Black Devil Doll" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1139783/

It was great hanging out with Frau and Coop. It's always nice to meet and hang out with such knowledgeable and cool people. Special thanks to '82, tileboy, edwardnky, and tiger_mn for spinning on turntable.fm regularly, making it easier to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Ha! Forgot about that odd event. Glad you researched it....is it on netflix? It seemed truly bizarre and what the heck did you google to find that?

Don't know about Netflix, since I'm not a subscriber. I believe the search terms were something like this: porn black puppet kill. The answer was at the top of the page.

Well, that'd set you back about $15 over the course of a week. I thought that the BJ story was BS?

Coop, the Naked Cowboy? His wife or gf (Cindy Fox) a.k.a. "The Naked Cowgirl" is a gal I went to high school with.

Just heard from a Brit friend that Jay Mascius was in the crowd for Sharon Van Etten. Not hard to notice him, so she invited him up to play...

See? Jay and I...open minds. Coop...not so much.

A+ Frau_Blucher
For an awesome write-up with pics. Very classy, informative post. I wish I coulda been there.

I'd kill to see Peter Case and Paul Collins. And, although I've seen them half-a-dozen times, the Weddoes are a personal favorite and I'd love to see Gedge & Co in that live context. That JMC gig sounded ideal as well.

Thanks for sharing.

Killing won't do you any good. Paul Collins has been removed from the tour.
