going to see the only US appearance this year, tonight at the Beacon Theatre
they will be accompanied by an orchestra
I suspect they will perform their new album "Tales of Us"

could be interesting- orchestras are not normally my thing (unless we are talking about Glen Branca)

Sugoi !!!

last night they performed the new album in its entirety- very slow, ballady songs with breathy, whispered vocals, ultra-melodic.

Allison gave some short introductions for most of the songs,

(paraphrasing)

"1)this is a song about our trip to Iceland. Have you ever been there? It's beautiful.

2) This is a song about 2 soldiers in love

3) This is a song about a mother and daughter who have a very dysfunctional relationship. One day the mother comes home and finds her lover in bed with her daughter"[^] (can't wait to see the video)

Then they performed 6-7 songs after a short break; very heavy on "Seventh Tree" material, e.g. Clowns, Road to Somewhere ("this is a song inspired by New York"),Little Bird, A + E, and Caravan Girl

plus ? a few from Felt Mountain?

I was wondering why they came all the way to the USA for one show only, but then Allison announced that the Wordless Music Orchestra was from NY, so it made more sense.

Also, very unusual that Will came onto the stage for the encore (see first picture)

About a 2h show- excellent!
