Upcoming New Order shows in U.S.

Postby jjkdc » Mon Mar 21, 2005 12:19 pm

Hey folks,

In case you haven't heard, New Order is set to play four concerts in the U.S. very soon. They are playing two shows in California in late April. Then Chicago on May 3rd, and New York City on May 5th. Hopefully they will add at least a couple more dates before starting their European tour in late May.

I've never seen them live, but love the concert DVDs they've released. I expect to be hopping the train to see them in NYC. Anybody else gonna go????

This is not enough. We need more shows, dammit! [:(!] I'll gladly shell out the 100 bucks the Coachella people are charging to see NewOrder alone play a whole set [:)]

Happily listening to the new Sirens album.

Um, can I just say that I'm just owned right now? Yeah, the album "owns" me. It "rules"!

Does anyone remember New Order at the Pier in NYC - Summer of 1988 with the Substance album. They appeared with Gene Loves Jezebel and Echo & The Bunnymen.
I also saw them at Jones Beach and the Meadowlands in 1989 with The SugarCubes and PIL...

OK, newsflash: my aforementioned buddy said there'll be a VIP ticket with my name on it waiting for me if I decide to show up for Coachella. Should I go? Is it worth the airfare from New York to be backstage for Coachella? Damn, I don't want to spend the
