Postby schwenko » Fri Apr 01, 2005 6:07 am

Reuters (11:00)
It was announced in NYC earlier today, April 1, 2005, that there will be a week long series of benefit concerts to support CBGBs, the legendery punk/new wave concert venue.

Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Ryuichi Sakamoto were present at the news conference, where they discussed the influence that CBGBs and Hilly Kristal had on their early development. All parties expressed a desire to help put in the time of the crucial economic difficulties that CBGBs is currently undergoing.

All 3 acts will perform nightly for 2 hours each, with 20 minute intermissions between sets.

Tickets are expected to be available at the box office beginning Monday April 4, 2010 9AM.
