Paul Westerberg (ex Replacements) on Tour!

Postby MonkeyTrousers » Wed Apr 13, 2005 11:31 am

Yup, Paul is on tour with a band (Paul Westerberg & His Only Friends)
this Spring! I know he's not NOTED (or called as it were) "New Wave"
but The Replacements were probably one of the most influental and refreshing bands of that era. Maybe, dare I say, more so than most
fashion-obsessed New Wave bands. In the same way XTC were important and
unconcerned with image. Style over substance (I hope that phrase is alowed in these waters). Talent over gimmick. See him on tour if you get the chance!

Yep, got my ticket to see him the end of the month here in DC. I've never seen him (or the Mats) thought I've been a fan since the mid 80s. Really looking forward to it.
