This just in (as of 7-25) Devo is cancelling some of the summer dates.[:(] This is from from the Bumbershoot web site:
"Due to matters beyond their control, Devo is canceling their Bumbershoot festival appearance, along with other shows on their tour. Please visit Devo’s official site for more info."
http://bumbershoot.org/

Devo's web site (last updated 7-18) mentions nothing[?]

I just seen them on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood last night. They are just as loud, fast, and awesome as they were in the 70's. If you go to one live show this year, make it DEVO. You will not be let down!

I concur! And when I saw them on August 4th in Anaheim, they played Going Under AND Wiggly World!!! You really NEED to see these guys! They haven't lost a step.

Any word on the cause for the cancellations?
The statement: "We regret that a few shows have been cancelled due to
circumstances beyond our control" sure seems loaded.[?]

I heard that Mark Mothersbaugh has important business in China, so that's the reason. He is a busy film composer, so I am guessing it has something to do with that.

I live near Seattle and was looking forward to seeing Devo but yes they were replaced by Iggy Pop and the Stooges. Im sorry to see them go but my main reason this year for going to Bumpershoot is to see General Public..

Hello all newbie posting[:D]

DEVO at the Anaheim Mouse of Blues (Friday August 5) was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. The energy-level was through the roof!

Anybody have a play list?

De-Evolution is not just a theory. De-Evolution is real.

We're all DEVO!

I went to the Anaheim show on August 4th, so I can supply you with a setlist for this current tour

After the opening video, they played....

That's Good
Going Under (!!!)
Girl U Want
Whip It
Satisfaction (I Can't Get No)
Uncontrollable Urge
Mongoloid
Blockhead
Jocko Homo
Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA
Gates of Steel

Encore:

Freedom of Choice
Wiggly World (!!!!!)
Gut Feeling/Slap Yer Mammy
Come Back Jonee

The same set as they had previously played for years, with a couple welcome "new" songs and a couple switches in the order. GREAT show.

[/quote]MM was on "Talk of the Nation" today on NPR. I only caught the end of it while driving to eat lunch.
He said he was going to China to adopt a baby or child. All the bureaucratic obstacles were finally cleared.
