Evidently there was a rally/concert to support CBGBs with Patti Smith, Blonndie, Chesterfield Kings, Willie Nile.
Anybody go?
I didn't since I'm 7000 miles away [:(]

It was a zoo. I couldn't get close. [V] They had a lot on local TV though. Blondie sang. Gavin Rosedale of Bush was there. Some rapper too. That's it. Not as much support as expected. Bad news is that it was the last day of the lease, and the BRC said it's time to move on. I think CBGBs is done unless something drastic happens.

so far I've only watched Sic F*cks, introduced by WLIR's Dennis McNamara, doing "Chop Up Your Mother" and "Insects Rule My World"!!
Withe Russell Wolinsky, lead vocals, and of course, Tish and Snooky on vocals (wielding axes). Attention Ollie S.!! Not sure if Stink is playing bass [:D] Also Blondie performance, interviews with Talking Heads, Fred Shneider and John Luongo. The rapper Blir was refrerring to is Chuck D/Public Enemy. Also Bad Brains.

But Debbie Harry's face lift keeps getting worse and worse.

I forgot how cool the Sick F*cks were!
