Has anyone heard of these guys? They're a French band with two girl singers who play acoustic/bossa nova covers of classic 80s songs. My friend and I saw them on a whim at Bimbos in SF on saturday and were quite impressed. Included in thier set:

A Forest
Just Can't Get Enough (they played 2 different versions!)
Marian (Sisters of Mercy)
Too Drunk to Fuck
Love Will Tear Us Apart
Melt With You
Teenage Kicks
Making Plans for Nigil
Bela Lugosi's Dead
(This is Not a) Love Song
Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've Fallen In Love With)

They closed with Tuxedomoon's In a Manner of Speaking, and brought Winston Tong onstage to sing backup with them! I seriously recommend people check them out... it's quite cool.

Great post Goutroy! I had bever heard of them before, but like what I hear on their wesite. I can't wait to hear the remainder of their album. It's too bad I have already missed the show that was out my way, earlier this month.

Oh man, I missed them in the city! I love this band and their album is just so awesome- my favorite is their cover of "In A Manner of Speaking"- so beautiful and haunting the way the singer sings it. Sounds like it was a great show- guess I'll have to try and catch them the next time they're in SF.

They opened for Dead Can Dance at one of their shows (at Hollywood Bowl, I think?) Unfortunately, they weren't part of the whole tour. I was hoping to see them here in Boston! I heard about the playlist and it sounded hilarious.

I keep seeing the name of this ... but I had thought it was just the name of a compilation CD...
Now I have to check them out!
