Patti Smith will appear at the downtown NYC Tower Records at 4th and Broadway on Tuesday, November 8, at 7 p.m., to commemorate the release of Horses/Horses.

Arrive early--space is limited. This exclusive event with Patti Smith, Lenny Kaye, Jay Dee Daugherty and Tony Shanahan will include a Q&A, spoken word and some acoustic songs. Following the performance, Patti Smith and the band will be signing copies of Horses/Horses, the 2-CD 30th anniversary edition of the classic Horses album. Each purchase will also include a free, limited edition Horses/Horses poster.

November 2005 marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Patti Smith's debut album, Horses, a groundbreaking rock & roll masterpiece which continues its unparalleled influence on rock music, style and culture. Just too bad her husband Fred "Sonic" Smith isn't around to see it. What a shame that they didn't record more together before he passed away.

CD's Recalled for Posing Risk to PC's
NY Times
By TOM ZELLER Jr.
Published: November 16, 2005

The global music giant Sony BMG yesterday announced plans to recall millions of CD's by at least 20 artists - from the crooners Celine Dion and Neil Diamond to the country-rock act Van Zant - because they contain copy restriction software that poses risks to the computers of consumers.

The move, more commonly associated with collapsing baby strollers, exploding batteries, or cars with faulty brakes, is expected to cost the company tens of millions of dollars. Sony BMG said that all CD's containing the software would be removed from retail outlets and that exchanges would be offered to consumers who had bought any of them.
