I can speak Four.
Spanish is my first language.
English is my second.
Greek is my third.
French- just enough to get by.

I have enough trouble with the one language, english. I really need to learn to read and write -- I think that would facilitate a lot in my life.

...besides it's costing me a fortune to hire a guy everyday to type all this useless stuff.

Watching a lot of The Simpsons, Futurama, and Star Trek allows me to converse in several dialects of Geek, but I am limited to English and very rudimentary German and French.

I overheard a couple of Quebequois (in Wildwood, NJ, of course)saying this little joke:
What do you call someone who speaks two languages?
Bilingual.
What do you call someone who speaks three languages?
Trilingual.

After english I can converse in spanish,russian (but not alot-I learn a new saying once a week)and the most fun- Jamaican slang. I grew up in east flatbush brooklyn which is almost all Jamaican. So its pretty funny to hear me do it. They are always in sho

I speak English, Latvian, Italian, & German--those last 2 not fluently. I've taught myself a bit of Greek, Russian, Lithuanian, Estonian, & Polish, so I can get around in those countries when travelling there.

English and Spanish. I used to speak Spanish fluently, but now I'd say its merely conversational. I don't get much chance to use it anymore.

I spent five years in Germany between '84 and '89 and still remember quite a bit of the language despite having never made any real effort to learn it. I know what you mean Ollie. I knew enough to get laid (or slapped) and enough to order beer and food. S
