It was very popular among teenagers in Utah in the early 1980's. Why here and not elsewhere is hard to say. It's still around:

my mom couldn't let me wear colone in my 80s times she said it would hurt my skin so i didnt not have it. my one girlfriend gave me arm spray in a litlle can to use she told me it smelled good, but my mom said it was armpit colone so sometimes i sneaked i
