Postby Quite Life » Fri Jul 16, 2004 9:31 pm

In the spirit of Coke vs. Pepsi....

Out of the Two which one do you prefer at New Wave Parties or New Wave clubs?(since topics on this board have to deal with new wave music or scean as to not offend or annoy anyone)

bottoms up,

Well, during the summer of 1982, (yes I was underage) I went to several clubs in the Hamptons with an older co-worker/friend. Our drink of choice was rum and coke. Lakeside in Montauk would play Haircut 100 all the time. Another club in East Hampton play

Thanks quiet life for another this vs that. I love them. Tell me it wasn't funny as hell the night everyone was doing them. I was on the board for hours, it was great! We were all on the same wave length that night. Lets keep the fun stuff coming.

OK,

To be brutial and graphically honest, tequila tastes better going down. However, in reverse, I'll take rum any day.

That is right Rum was the Booze of choice (well that and vodka) in the New wave world back in the 80's I remember my girlfriend drinking Rum-Collins drinks.
Teqiula back in the day was more of a regular staple for the heavey mettel crowd, football jocks

Tequila... my ex roomate/best friend said "it funks your world up".

I find its got this charm and allows you to get trashed quickly.
Its fun stuff. Every single time I've been kicked out of a Wal Mart or a shopping mall, it's been there.

Rums good

Rum and coke was definitely more NW where I come from. KYYX and Quiet Life are right; tequila was more for the rockers.

Here's something I'd repressed: my friend reminded me that twenty years ago as little underage Wavers we'd drink a concoction of

Tequila or Mezcal. Rum is sort of the Marilyn (andro singer, not Monroe) of liquor. Needs lots of dressing up, a chunk of pineapple here, an umbrella there. Tequila is more like Joe Strummer. Burns, starts out hard to digest (the cheap Cuervo crap, at
